About Jessica Parfitt

I have been a fitness enthusiast and practictioner of yoga for over a decade.  I love the results and fitness benefits that come from a workout. I also love the way that a yoga practice creates body awareness and a clear head.  But fitting a work out and yoga into a day is tough.  So I am determined to get the best of both in one workout and to utilise up to the minute fitness research so that your exercise routine really earns its keep.

Qualifications

I have a range of instructors qualifications including Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise To Music and Body Condidtioning.  I have specialised at higher levels in Freestyle Fitness Yoga, Core Satability and Torso Training and iMoveFreely biomechanics.  I am currently completing certificates in Pre and Postnatal fitness and Core Strength Vinyasa.  I love anatomy knowledge and believe it is important to educate my participants while they get fit.

Vision

We all want to get fit, but doing it barefoot and incorporating moves taken from yoga helps us to really enhance body awareness.  My classes are about educating our bodies how to move and creating that all important muscle mind connection. Taking our shoes off and making our feet really active allows the weight to be distributed more evenly in our other joints.  Spreading the toes gives freedom to the rest of our skeleton.  I love classes where there is an opportunity to challenge your self or take it easy depending on what's true for you.  So there's no complicated choreography or poses that put unnecessary pressure on joints but there is always a chance to take your fitness further if you choose.

Daily activities can easily lead to poor posture and tight muscles.  And often these tight muscles pull bones out of line creating back ache and other niggles.  IMoveFreely is a gentle form of biomechanical realignment based on muscle release and targetted conditioning.  This is a class everyone should try!
